Keith and Chloe vow renewal
It’s been a while since I blogged…
This assignment pushed me to REALLY believe in myself. If you know photographers, we have a style and comfort zone to take photographs in. We like to control our light and surroundings as much as possible.
Well, this one took me completely out of my zone and pushed me to adapt and overcome. Aniya… thank you for always being that voice in my head (kick-ass Jason…LOL). Also to my wife who constantly reminds me…“you got this”
Chloe and Keith got married in the COVID wave and didn’t have photos after their wedding, they traveled back to Barbados and decided to renew their vows and take some photos. I was lucky to be awarded this opportunity to capture their moments, it also was a push for me to change how I approached situations. Honestly, this was not an assignment but a lesson for me.
The ceremony was short and to the point and we started our adventures to make some memories, Chloe and Keith, thank you! this really took me out of my box. You guys were amazing!
Enough of my yapping, check out these moments!

What can I say about my experience…
Jason Prescod Photography! What can I say about my experience...... Professional puts you at ease, timely responses (communication was on point), and last but by no means least, fun, fun, fun; (makes me want to have more pictures taken; (and I normally don't like taking pictures, lol).
The pictures turned out beautifully... beyond our wildest expectations, and the entire wedding party had a blast in the photoshoot. Raschid and I are so pleased that we made the wise choice in choosing Jason to capture our special moments on our wedding day, and our pictures were even delivered before the agreed time. Can't forget the second photographer Jamel Gittens, who was also a dream to work with. Great team!
This was by far the best experience I've had with photographers to date; Thank you for making our day even more special.

Mother and Daughter Photo session
It was an honour and joy to photograph these two ladies.
Received an email from Deirdre (Dear-dra - inside joke) asking about my availability to photograph a special moment for her and daughter. A few emails to and fro and we were set with the date and location.
Deirdre's requirements were simple, she wanted natural and relaxed photos in a nice location. The best place for this would be Farley Hill National Park, it's just a magical location. "Make sure you get some candid moments" she said.
Deirdre & Chloe met me with warm smiles and excitement in their voices, I knew this was going to be a wonderful time, we chatted and walked. While walking I would either dart ahead of them or drift back and capture their interaction with each other, we chatted about why this trip was so special for them, Chloe had just turned 18 and this was their way of celebrating, first time to the Island and just having fun and adventure.
Whilst chatting Deirdre asked, "what made you get into photography?" after a few seconds I looked at her and replied, "this...creating memories for people"
I hope to meet them again, here's a bit of what happened.
Richanna and Kyle
If this is how 2018 going to be... I happily welcome it.
Contact was made mid-November with Richanna about having a couple session done, we chatted back and fro about rates and packages. She wanted to have a shoot done early in January, somehow we lost contact and then Christmas happened... I got an email confirming the first Saturday in January. (Insert mad scramble to check emails).
For those of you in Barbados, we have been having a rainy January and that Saturday was a monsoon. Called Richanna to reschedule for another date only to hear, "Oh no.. my makeup is done" That is international language for... We doing this shoot today.
We played the waiting game, hour by hour and pushed ahead. On location, we had a 15-second window before the monsoon. The sound of disappointment in Richanna's voice was strong, we had to reschedule. The following Saturday we were almost dealt with the same fate but the weather held up and we were able to have an amazing session. I had a great time with these two, thank you Richanna and Kyle for giving me the opportunity to capture your moments.

Portrait Session with Gabrielle
It’s always great to have Gabby back home, I’m sure her parents, friends and family find it equally enjoyable to have her back as well. For me it is the perfect photo opportunity, her piercing stare, thick lovely hair, glowing skin and stunning good looks make for the perfect canvas to create some amazing portraits.
This was our second session and she didn’t disappoint, I was ready to end the session in the first 15mins of the shoot. Hardly remembering the poses I wanted, she made it easy with every turn and angle.
Gabby… if this doctor thing gets too stressful the modelling world awaits you! Thank you for hanging out with me and giving me the opportunity to capture these amazing portraits.

Darlene and Silvestre Wedding Anniversary
Received an email a few weeks ago from Darlene asking about some wedding anniversary photos, we chatted back and fro about clothing and best spots to take photos.
Seems normal right… The shoot was scheduled for Saturday morning and they were returning home on Sunday… (Bring all the coffee)
I wasn’t too bothered as I had done a few tight schedules like this before; it gives me a rush and challenges me to get the shots the clients need.
The morning of the shoot when I finally met Darlene and Silvestre, I immediately had a good vibe from them, Darlene was all smiles with a twinkle in the eyes and Silvestre had his $10,000 smile and firm handshake.
We quickly planned our shoot stages and locations and we started, working with them was a total walk in the park or in this case a walk on the beach.
Thank you Darlene and Silvestre! I hope to see you back someday.
Shout out to Jamel Gittens who must hate me for dragging him out on these early mornings.
Here is what went down at their session
Trash the Dress
Anna & Edward
Married in Canada and Trashing the dress on their honeymoon in Barbados.
Anna and Edward just wanted to take some photos of them running in the ocean and getting the dress totally drenched, now what fun would that be? I suggested some photos of them before they ruined the dress and after. Well they totally did an outstanding job.
Here’s what happened at their Trash the Dress Session:

Sheena and Girlfriends…
The way I see it, if I have photographed you more than twice... you are my client. You would have seen Sheena before with her family, this time Sheena is back with her girlfriends and they were a crazy and fun bunch to work with.
Somehow Sheena managed to find what I would have to call the most deserted place in St. Philip to shoot in for this session. However, it made for a pretty cool spot to shoot, I never would have found this place during this century. It has now been geo tagged.
Sheena called and asked about my availability in July for a shoot with her and a few girlfriends, we confirmed the date and time. Before the session started they said " we not models, so you have to pose us"... "Just relax and go with the flow and enjoy the day, you are here to have fun"
Honestly, I must say, it was a good session, I still think they're crazy!
Thank you Sheena for allowing me to record your memories.
André and Tracy
Another long overdue blog about another wonderful couple, I really have to keep up to date! André is no stranger to me, so when I got a message from him asking me if I still doing photography, I raised one eyebrow and smiled and told him I still dabble in the art.
“Great!” he exclaimed, “I want some proper engagement photos” knowing what a practical joker he can be... I was waiting for the other shoe to drop but it seemed there was no other shoe, He just wanted photos of his lovely fiancée.
Arrangements were made and we planned for the beautiful grounds of Codrington College. Immediately I knew these two had a strong chemistry, they laughed and goofed around almost the entire session, well André did, Tracy was just trying not to burst out laughing. The bond these two shared made for an awesome engagement session, I literally just had to capture those special moments.
Thank you, André and Tracy!
When a review becomes a blog!
That moment when a client writes back something like this and takes you to your happy place.
"What an experience!!"
My fiancée and I flew to Barbados to do our engagement photos and let's just say we were a little nervous and worried on how everything would turn out.
As soon as we met Jason face to face the nervousness must have just fallen right into the ocean beside us.
Jason had a warm way of dealing with us and made us feel very at ease. He had fantastic ideas for unique poses but also let us have some fun when necessary.
Our shoot turned out to be the most memorable and enjoyable part of our trip. There is no way that would have ever been possible unless Jason Prescod was behind the lens!
His professionalism and passion made the entire experience a walk in the park. (or rather on the beach:)
We will definitely be back to see Jason Prescod and so will our closest family and friends.
Thanks again Jason!!
Here's what went down at their session
Wesley and Sheena,
This blog has been long overdue, like about a year!...
I first met this couple May 2016, Wesley had contacted me about doing a Family shoot / Birthday Shoot. The location was arranged, somewhere level with not too many obstacles as he was on crutches due to an accident.
Don’t think I was prepared for how serious this accident was, Wesley hopped out the car with a huge grin on his face, then I saw how bad the accident was. I was shocked, Wesley greeted me with a huge grin and a firm handshake and said: “Brother Jason, how you?” Whatever grumbles I had during the week were nothing compared to what Wesley had to endure over the past months.
I smiled and said “holding on sir!” Immediately I had a respect for him. Closely following him was his girlfriend, making sure he was ok. I was introduced to Sheena who greeted me with a twinkle in her eyes and shy grin, I also met the rest of the family “Tan Tan” and Kyla.
Just as we were about to start the shoot, mother nature had other plans and decided to introduce us to a monsoon. Not daunted Wesley suggested we could do the shoot under the covered area of Codrington College, somehow I don’t think he wanted to disappoint Sheena and the girls. We pressed on and we did pretty well. Images approved and prints made.
Last year sneak peak below:
How do you know when a client is satisfied with the level of work/service?
They come back!...
Once again I got a call from a familiar voice “Brother Jason, how you?, It’s time for another session”, I could go on and on, but I know you want to see what went down at our second session. Wesley is doing good with his recovery, Sheena is rocking some long curls and the kids are growing nicely. Oh, Wesley said we are doing this again next year life be spared and we “Gine updeting!”
Here's what went down in 2017.
Thank you Wesley and Sheena for letting me capture these moments in your lives!
The Day She Stopped Yoga...
What happens when you take a fish out of water...? Would the same thing happen when you take a Yoga Enthusiast out of her comfort zone?...
Here’s Jo-Anne to prove you wrong. Thoroughly enjoyed the photo session we had, she was calm and focused (sounds like yoga doesn’t it?)
From the day I met Jo-Anne, she was always doing some “Tree” or “Downward Facing Dog”. I knew she would be an interesting candidate for a photoshoot; however our schedules always seemed to get crossed.
Before we even started Jo-Anne insisted she knew nothing of this posing and angles, somehow I think she did this before.

Biker Beauty
Meet Mona!
What better way to restart my blog than with this entry. You may have seen the images from this session on Instagram and Facebook, what I didn't give was the history.
Mona and I go way back! and we have been talking about this bike project for years...I have to admit I am glad we waited this long. Back then I was now starting out in photography and like all young photographers I figured I could tackle any project (what an upstart)....
What it took to make this session a success, I would have failed back then. The prep and the research it took... I was nowhere ready back then.
Fast track to a couple of weeks, Mona called and said "Jason the bike is painted and ready, set a date" . With the assistance of Jamel we set about to plan this shoot, we scoured Pinterest for ideas and looks and came up with the concept. Plan in place a date was set and I was quite pleased with the outcome. Thanks also to Christopher Smith for assisting on this shoot.
Mona... thank you for having the confidence in me.
