Meet the Cassidys
I will start by saying that I live for clients and moments like this…
Mukti and Ryan Cassidy on their beach walk
Ah, where to begin ... AMAZING! I was weary about booking a photo shoot for our 3rd Anniversary, I’m sooo glad I did. Jason was prompt answering all of my questions and concerns! He made you feel at ease from the first moment to the end. He is the most professional, fun, down-to-earth photographer! He listened to what I wanted and I got nothing short of exactly that. Special memories, captured for a lifetime. All thanks to him. I highly recommended him if you are needing a shoot done in Barbados for anything. Meeting him and luckily his wife for our shoot was the best experience. It’s like making new friends in new places! Hopefully we will return to Barbados one day!
Had the most amazing time EVER with this couple, I would do it all over again!! Thank you so much for allowing me to capture your moments on your special celebration. Definitely will look into that breadfruit next time they are coming!!
Here is a little of what went down for their session
About the views…
Loved how the sunlight was in Mukti’s hair that day
Told me they loved nature and the tall trees…
We would love to have a sunset… Sure thing!! (thanks to my wife for the lighting)
We had a great time!
Shooting with Tanya...
Meet Tanya,
Had a fun time photographing this young lady, immediately when meeting, there was a huge smile and such positive energy. While chatting with her during the shoot Tanya told me " Never let life break you, always wear your best smile and have a positive attitude"
The energy this young mum had during the shoot was off the chart, however she did warn me that she had a love for cameras and they loved her back. She rocked the session without even trying.
While wrapping up the session she spotted a lady walking her Bouvier puppy and immediately she walked over and asked the lady to borrow her puppy. Thanks Margaret! you can read her blog post about the breed of the dog here http://barbadosbouviers.net/wordpress/
Thanks again Tanya for letting me work with you.
When sisters decide to shoot...
Epic start to 2018... I can only hope this is the start of things to come.
I received a booking from Adrianna wanting to take some photos with her sister on her arrival to Barbados, I gathered from the excitement, they had not seen each other for a while.
Booking confirmed and I was left to wonder how am I going to photograph these two ladies to make a lasting memory for them. Challenge accepted!!
On the day of the shoot I finally met Andrea, she brought such energy and confidence to the set, it was amazing!! Adrianna was nervous (you would think she never shot with me before) We had such an awesome shoot, thank you, Adrianna and Andrea, for starting off the year on this high note

André and Tracy
Another long overdue blog about another wonderful couple, I really have to keep up to date! André is no stranger to me, so when I got a message from him asking me if I still doing photography, I raised one eyebrow and smiled and told him I still dabble in the art.
“Great!” he exclaimed, “I want some proper engagement photos” knowing what a practical joker he can be... I was waiting for the other shoe to drop but it seemed there was no other shoe, He just wanted photos of his lovely fiancée.
Arrangements were made and we planned for the beautiful grounds of Codrington College. Immediately I knew these two had a strong chemistry, they laughed and goofed around almost the entire session, well André did, Tracy was just trying not to burst out laughing. The bond these two shared made for an awesome engagement session, I literally just had to capture those special moments.
Thank you, André and Tracy!
When a review becomes a blog!
That moment when a client writes back something like this and takes you to your happy place.
"What an experience!!"
My fiancée and I flew to Barbados to do our engagement photos and let's just say we were a little nervous and worried on how everything would turn out.
As soon as we met Jason face to face the nervousness must have just fallen right into the ocean beside us.
Jason had a warm way of dealing with us and made us feel very at ease. He had fantastic ideas for unique poses but also let us have some fun when necessary.
Our shoot turned out to be the most memorable and enjoyable part of our trip. There is no way that would have ever been possible unless Jason Prescod was behind the lens!
His professionalism and passion made the entire experience a walk in the park. (or rather on the beach:)
We will definitely be back to see Jason Prescod and so will our closest family and friends.
Thanks again Jason!!
Here's what went down at their session
Wesley and Sheena,
This blog has been long overdue, like about a year!...
I first met this couple May 2016, Wesley had contacted me about doing a Family shoot / Birthday Shoot. The location was arranged, somewhere level with not too many obstacles as he was on crutches due to an accident.
Don’t think I was prepared for how serious this accident was, Wesley hopped out the car with a huge grin on his face, then I saw how bad the accident was. I was shocked, Wesley greeted me with a huge grin and a firm handshake and said: “Brother Jason, how you?” Whatever grumbles I had during the week were nothing compared to what Wesley had to endure over the past months.
I smiled and said “holding on sir!” Immediately I had a respect for him. Closely following him was his girlfriend, making sure he was ok. I was introduced to Sheena who greeted me with a twinkle in her eyes and shy grin, I also met the rest of the family “Tan Tan” and Kyla.
Just as we were about to start the shoot, mother nature had other plans and decided to introduce us to a monsoon. Not daunted Wesley suggested we could do the shoot under the covered area of Codrington College, somehow I don’t think he wanted to disappoint Sheena and the girls. We pressed on and we did pretty well. Images approved and prints made.
Last year sneak peak below:
How do you know when a client is satisfied with the level of work/service?
They come back!...
Once again I got a call from a familiar voice “Brother Jason, how you?, It’s time for another session”, I could go on and on, but I know you want to see what went down at our second session. Wesley is doing good with his recovery, Sheena is rocking some long curls and the kids are growing nicely. Oh, Wesley said we are doing this again next year life be spared and we “Gine updeting!”
Here's what went down in 2017.
Thank you Wesley and Sheena for letting me capture these moments in your lives!
The Day She Stopped Yoga...
What happens when you take a fish out of water...? Would the same thing happen when you take a Yoga Enthusiast out of her comfort zone?...
Here’s Jo-Anne to prove you wrong. Thoroughly enjoyed the photo session we had, she was calm and focused (sounds like yoga doesn’t it?)
From the day I met Jo-Anne, she was always doing some “Tree” or “Downward Facing Dog”. I knew she would be an interesting candidate for a photoshoot; however our schedules always seemed to get crossed.
Before we even started Jo-Anne insisted she knew nothing of this posing and angles, somehow I think she did this before.

My Picks for 2016...
With 2016 quickly coming to a close, I thought I’d go back and reflect on the past year. It was a fun and eventful year, I have learnt many things and I am excited to continue learning even more.
I had the opportunity to work and interact with some amazing people, I hope 2017 will even be more amazing.
Praise and thanks to God who has given me the ability and life to pursue this photography journey. I am enjoying it!!!
To those I've worked with, thank you! and to those I have not had the opportunity to do so... I look forward to meeting you.
I cannot forget those who have helped me along the way, may it be an encouraging word, technical eye or a good swift kick to stop overthinking and just have faith in myself.
...Last but importantly my amazing wife, her understanding and putting up with my late night editing and running off to photograph some of the Island's beautiful women.
To you reading this blog, have an awesome 2017 and I would love to meet and work with you soon.
Meet Jamel...
Throughout my photography journey there have been many photographers who have gave of their experience and knowledge. To mention all of them and how they helped I would be here for a while, I thank you all for your continued help and critique.
A special mention goes out to Jamel Gittens who has been always willing to assist with my photography. A sharp eye for detail and light. I met Jamel through the BPS field trips and the online banter with other members of the Photographic Society. Various trips would result in either of us shouting the other with hails like “Look at the big fish” or “Let me put up my camera since you here” over time we realized that we are actually related… I have to sit down and look at that family tree.
Game Face ON!!
Jamel has been always willing to help me with the lighting and offering his suggestions on another way to light a subject. Over time we have been assisting each other with shoots and offering little tips and tricks. Now we just call out terms and we know what the other is looking to achieve. The common goal being to push each other to be the best, I have lost track of the number of shoots he has assisted me with but what I do know, every shoot with Jamel assisting has been one to cause eyebrows (saw what I did there) to be raised with favourable comments when the images are released on social media.

Risha
Short story on how we met...
Apart from accidently stumbling on her IG, silently following her feed, bumping into her at events. (I am not a stalker) One day I was documenting my wife's friend baby shower and guess who walked in the door...Yup Risha.
They were all at school together and remained good friends over the years, ok so while they were all laughing and catching up on old times... back to me the one in the corner with my eyes open wide and pinching myself... Lo and behold the one i have been silently wishing to photograph was there.
So as old friends go they all got together for a random group photo. (My wife would kill me if I showed that photo) so I had to send the photo to her right? I mean how rude if I didn't
Well fast track to our first official photo shoot at Farley Hill, while taking light and test shots readings my lighting assistant Jamel looked at me and said " You know.. the level raise now, every shoot from now on has to be on point.
First Shoot at Farley Hill
With that we nodded and knew this was the starting point... blah blah click click... we wrapped up the session and we had a blast!
From that first session we all knew a second one was going to happen! Thank you Risha for being such an awesome person to work with and here's to many more.
